Osun:No Court Order Reinstating Any Yes Or No Election Candidates-APP

The Action Peoples Party (APP) has reaffirmed that the court ruling nullifying the 2022 Osun local government election remains in effect, stating that the Court of Appeal’s recent judgment does not affect it.

Odesola Oluseye Titus, the state chairman of APP, made this clarification while addressing the public on Monday.
“The judgment delivered in the case filed by APP against APC and OSSIEC on 30th November 2022 remains unchanged and effective,” he stated.
He dismissed speculations suggesting that previously elected officials would return to office.
“There is no court order reinstating any Yes or No election candidates,” Titus declared.
The APP chairman also stressed that the upcoming local government election, scheduled for 22nd February 2025, would proceed as planned. “Today’s judgment has no impact on the forthcoming election. It remains a vital part of our democratic process,” he said.
Titus urged voters to prepare for the election and ensure active participation. “I encourage all eligible voters to get ready to perform their civic duty,” he added.
He called on Osun residents to remain focused and not be distracted by misinformation. “Let us remain calm, committed to democracy, and avoid unnecessary distractions,” he advised.
He further reiterated APP’s commitment to upholding the rule of law and electoral integrity. “The public should note that the APP judgment stands firm and unaffected by today’s ruling,” Titus concluded.
With the election date approaching, APP assured the electorate of its dedication to ensuring a fair and transparent process in Osun State.
