Monarch Joins Ancestors Few Months After Installation

Less than a year after he was installed as the traditional ruler of Oda, in Akure South Local Government Area of Ondo State, Oba Julius Ajayi Adewumi Omomo, Okunbadejo II, has joined his ancestors.

Oba Omomo was installed as Olojoda to replace his predecessor, Oba Bamidele Akosile after many years in interregnum.
The monarch passed on at the age of 83 years. Oba Omomo was installed on the 30th of May 2023. He died nine months after his installation as the monarch of the community.
The community said the few months’ reign of the demised monarch witnessed development, especially peace within the Local Government Area
Spokesman of the family, Chief Prince Ade Adelakun confirmed the death of the monarch to reporters and described him as a humble, decent, and down-to-earth monarch.
Adelakun said the late monarch cared for his subjects as well as the unity and progress of the state, describing his few years of reign as remarkably eventful.
