UNIMED Reacts To Alleged Reinstatement Of ‘Sacked’ Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof Adolfus O. Loto
The Governing Council of the University of Medical Sciences, Ondo City, has reacted to a purported court verdict allegedly ordered the institution’s governing council to maintain the status quo regarding the alleged removal of Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration and Clinical Services, Prof. Adolphus O. Loto.
The Governing Council described the said report by an ondo based online platform as mendacious and a calculated attempt to mislead the public.
In a statement signed the Deputy Registrar, Governing Council & General
Ezekiel I. ADENIRAN and made available to journalists, the institution enjoined the online medium to retract the story within 7 days, by painting the situation as it is.
The statement reads: “The attention of the University of Medical Sciences, Ondo City has been drawn to a report by Sunshine Truth, an online media platform, with the caption “Ondo Court Reinstates ‘Sacked UNIMED Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Adolphous O. Loto”.
“This report is mendacious and a calculated attempt to mislead the public with a view to creating an imaginary crisis within the peaceful and progressive university community.
“We will like to inform the general public, that the matter is still in court and no judge has made any pronouncement that the ‘sacked’ Deputy Vice Chancellor be reinstated.
“Sunshine Truth is hereby enjoined to retract the story within the next 7 days, by painting the situation as it is and give it the same publicity as this one. Failure to do this, may lead to a legal action against the online newspaper for deliberately distorting facts with the intention of causing chaos within UNIMED.
“Please let it be noted that the University will not resort to a war of attrition on the pages of newspaper over a matter that is still in court.
*At the appropriate time, we will make a comprehensive statement on the matter, so as to put the records straight”.
