Swarm Of Bees Claims Life Of Farmer, Injures Two Others In Osun
A swarm of bees killed a farmer and critically injured two others in Osun State on Friday, at Olobe Farm, Igbajo.
The victim, Mr. Abideen Olabiyi, who was from Alalade compound in Ada, died from the attack while the two other men, Mr. Solomon Kingsley and Chief Olusegun Alalade, also from Alalade compound, were injured and are receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.
According to a police report from the Otan Ayegbaju Division, the three men had visited the farm when they were attacked by a swarm of bees.
The police report obtained by SaharaReporters on Saturday confirmed the tragic incident.
The report reads: “Today Friday 18/04/2025 X SUD X at about 1645 HRS X there was a complaint from one Babasanjo Alalade M X of Alalade compound Ada X Osun State X he stated that today X three of his brothers went to farm X one Abideen Olabiyi M X Mr Solomon Kingsley X and Chief Olusegun Alalade x all of Alalade compound Ada X went to the farm in Olobe Farm Igbajo.
“On getting to the farm they were attacked by bunch of bees X and as a result x Mr Abideen Olabiyi ( M) X lost his life x while the other two victims manage to escape with their lives X detectives mine visited the scene X photograph taken X corps removed and deposited at Healthy Paradise Mutuary Ikirun for autopsy while the other two victims were rushed to undisclose hospital at Ada for treatment x for your information sir X From Supol Otan Ayegbaju Division.”
The report further noted that Mr. Olabiyi’s body was taken to the Healthy Paradise Mortuary in Ikirun for an autopsy. Investigators visited the scene and photographs were taken to document the incident.
The other two victims, identified as Mr. Kingsley and Chief Alalade, were rushed to a hospital in Ada for treatment.
