Speaking, on the exercise, the Chairman of the party in the state, Mrs Oluwayemi Susannah Idowu Ojo, commended the party members for playing the game according to the rules.

Ojo said that new leadership of the party would not tolerate any act indiscipline, disloyalty and insubordination, saying the vices are against the tenets of our party.

“I am using this medium to tell you that there are thousands of members of labour party that are fit and capable to hold executive positions.

“However, you were nominated, voted for while some of you were nominated and affirmed. Therefore, you have to discharge your duties faithfully in accordance with the party’s constitution.

“This new leadership shall not tolerate indiscipline, disloyalty and insubordination for these vices are against the tenets of our party. And whoever that is found guilty of any of the offence shall be dealt with in line with the party’s constitution.

She however, implored members of the party to go back to their various local Government areas and start mobilizing people of the state into the party.

“It is my belief that we have all taken a promising and informed decision to rechanel the party affairs and revive the progressive tendencies which have been adulterated by the opportunists.

“The era of one man show that breeded corruption by some characters in the party has gone for good. After the general elections where our presidential candidate Mr. Peter Obi was robbed in a day light. We have not slept we have been burning the midnight candle to ensure we revive the party from the sickle cell anemia inflicted by some come and raids contractors in the state. Once more, I am telling you bold and sincerely that the era has gone.

“My leadership shall be of sincerity of purpose, honesty, transparency, accountability, and above all the rule of law. I am not autocratic in nature (and you all know this) therefore, I am here to serve and not to dictate according to my whims and caprices.”

Earlier, in his remarks, the national officer who represented the National Working Committee of the party, Mustapha Adebayo Muhydeen described the process as wonderful.

Muhydeen emphasized that the only recognized national Leadership in the eye of the law is that of the Alhaji Lamidi Apapa led labour party in Nigeria.

He said: “It is never a gainsaying that the only recognized national leadership in the eye of the law is that of the Alhaji Lamidi Apapa led labour party in Nigeria.

“As one of the members of the National Working Committee NWC. I am reaffirming that the Julius Abure faction was never at any time recognized by law. The FCT high court has restrained him and there are several other court verdicts in our favour at the Federal High Courts Appeal Courts and Supreme Court. Though there are internal crisis but we are going to survive the currenty crisis looming both at the state and at the national.

“Therefore in Osun state the only recognized leadership by law is the leadership of Mrs Suzan Ojo. As any other leadership is illegal and whoever that parades himself or herself as the state chairman of the party shall face the full wrath of the law. I acknowledge and appreciate the State Chairman Mrs. Suzan ojo , the state executives and particularly the local government chairmen across the 30 local government areas and Modakeke Area Council for their doggedness and loyalty towards the party.

“I enjoin the state leadership to know that labour party is distinct in structure to other political parties in Nigeria. We are synonymous to an Iroko tree with roots, branches and leaves. How do i mean, our party is of three inextricably interwoven categories; the state party members, the labour party candidates and the Obedient Movements. The state leadership should do all in her capacity to bond the trio into one. This is very vital.

“Thus, I charge you all go back home and strengthen the party. And for those who have reassociated themselves back into the party you’re welcome for you are now a born again i implore you kindly sin no more”.

The following emerged as state executive, Mrs. Oluwayemi Susannah Idowu Ojo, State Chairman; Chief Olaposi Ogunremi, First Deputy Chairman (Male); Mr. Akinlabi Oluwaloye _ Deputy Chairman (Male); Chief Olawale Adenike Adijat __ Deputy Chairman (Female); Mrs. Taiwo Adebukola _ Deputy Chairman (Female); Mr. Odesanya Kole Raphael _ State Secretary; Mr. Seun Ogunleye _ State Youth Leader; Princess Adekunle Aderonke Abisodun _ State Women Leader; and Barrister Jimoh Bode Babalola _ Legal Adviser among others.
