Gov Adeleke Begins Process For Dualisation Of Old Garage – Oke Fia – LAMECO Junction Road In Osogbo

The administration of Senator Ademola Adeleke has commenced process for the dualisation of Old Garage – Oke Fia – LAMECO Junction Road In Osogbo, Osun State Capital.

The process include: joint site measurement and enumeration of landed properties to be separated from road ways, for necessary documentations, being carried out by the Ministry of Works and Transport,in collaboration with the Ministry Of Lands, Office of the Surveyor General and the State Capital Territory Development Authority.

According to a briefing by the Director of Highways, Ministry of Works Transport, Engr. Basiru Bello, notification for various contractors to tender will follow.

He added that each contractor will submit his/her bid online where opening of tender will be made and the most qualified for the job will be chosen in line with the dictates of the State Public Procurement Agency.

Engr. Bello stated further that after appropriate drawings and designs have been made by the Ministry of Works and Transport, a final memo for approval will be written for the award of the contract.

He said the Governor is determined to turn around the face of major towns and cities so as to improve the economic fortunes of the State and to create a better living environment for residents.

Engr. Bello added that the present State helmsman wants to give Osogbo, the State capital a new look and at the same time ease traffic congestion within the city center to reduce the travel time of motorists.

According to Engr. Bello, “I am happy to inform you that in a bid to ease the traffic congestion around Oke-fia and other parts of Osogbo the State capital, our amiable Governor has approved that the Ministry of Works and Transport commence the processes that will lead to the dualisation of Old Garage – Oke Fia – LAMECO Junction Road.

“The processes have started in earnest as directed by Mr Governor, I want us to see this task as an opportunity to contribute our quota towards the development of our State.

“I want everyone of us to do this job with the fear of God and the interest of Osun State at heart. We should do it diligently without fear or favour. Mr Governor means well, that is why he has approved this process to commence. We should not let him and the people of Osun State down”,he stressed.
