Court Admits Statistician’s Report In PDP’s Petition Against Tinubu

The Presidential Election Petition Court on Wednesday adjourned the petition of the Peoples Democratic Party and its candidate, Atiku Abubakar, to Thursday, June 15.

The PDP and Atiku are also disputing the outcome of the presidential election at the PEPC which produced Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress as the elected president.
Listed as respondents in the petition marked CA/PEPC/05/2023 are the Independent National Electoral Commission, Tinubu and his party, the APC.
At the resumed hearing of their petition on Wednesday, counsel to the petitioners, Jegede Eyitayo (SAN) called the 21st witness to testify in the matter.
Eyitayo, who led the witness, Samuel Oduntan, in evidence, informed the court that cross-examination is scheduled to be done on Thursday.
After counsel to the respondents affirmed their agreement to conduct the cross-examination on Thursday, the petitioners tendered the report before the court which was subsequently admitted as an exhibit.
However, the respondents withheld their consent for the demonstration of the report which emanated from the inspection of the election on the grounds that the petitioners did not make any application regarding any demonstration.
The PDP and Atiku thereafter asked the court to adjourn to Thursday, June 15 for the cross-examination of the witness.
