President-elect, Tinubu Sympathises With Victims Of Ikeja Train Accident
The President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sympathized with the victims of Ikeja train accident.
The ugly incident happened Thursday morning as a train rammed into Lagos State government staff bus at the PWD bus stop,Lagos
CityMirrorNews reports that Eight persons lost their lives while several others injured.
The South West Director of National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mr. Ibrahim Farinloye in a statement on Thursday said eight adult female staff of the State Government died and several were injured.
He said the State Government staff bus was trying to cross the PWD/Sogunle Rail crossing, but the train coming into Lagos from Abeokuta trapped the bus on its rail.
Reacting to the sad incident, Tinubu, in a statement signed by Tunde Rahman expressed sadness over the unfortunate incident.
“I offer my sincere condolences to the victims and families affected by the gory incident involving a train and a bus in the Ikeja area of Lagos State earlier today.
“I am praying for all, including those who died and those who sustained injuries in the tragic and unfortunate incident.
“My thoughts are with them and with the Lagos State Government, even as I continue to follow the emergency response efforts closely and offer support, where necessary, to ensure that survivors and others involved receive the best care.”
