Osun NUJ State Information Chapel Press Week Begins Tommorow

All is now set for the commencement of the Press Week of the State Information Chapel of Osun NUJ as different activities has been lined up for the ceremony which starts on Sunday 23rd May, 2021 with a Thanksgiving Service.

Part of activities lined up for the week long event is an Award and Family Day for which eminent personalities including Governor of Osun, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola has been penciled down as recipients of awards for positively impacting the society with their positions.

According to a release jointly signed by the Chairman of the Press Week planning committee, Mr Tiamiyu Jelili and the Secretary, Roseline Olawuni, events marking the week will begin with a Thanksgiving Service at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Osun Province 1, Osogbo by 9:30am.

The release added that Monday, 24th May will witness the Official Opening Ceremony at the Conference room, Ministry of Information which will also feature a Health Talk to be delivered by the Hon. Commissioner for Health, Dr Rafiu Isamotu and to be followed by free medical check-up on the same day by officials of the State Ministry of Health.

The planning committee through the statement hinted that a Public Lecture with the title: “Journalistic Activities In the 21st Century And Health Challenges” will be delivered by the CMD, UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital, Prof. Peter Olaitan and the General Manager, Unique Fm, Chief Jare Ayo Martins on Tuesday the 25th May.

To help members unwind and keep fit, Wednesday, 26th May has been fixed for sports activities/indoor games which will involve a competition among public school students to be supervised by the Commissioner for Sports, Hon. Yemi Lawal at the Olufunke Kolawole Resorts within the State Secretariat.

The climax of the Press Week is the award ceremony on Thursday, 27th May where Governor Adegboyega Oyetola will be bestowed with the award of “Best Performing Governor In The Health Sector” while Hon. Taiwo Oluga representing Ayedaade/Irewole/Isokan federal constituency and Mr Diran Fasesin will also be honoured with awards at the Multi-purpose hall of the local government service commision.

The last day of the ceremony, Friday, 28th May will see members of the Chapel giving thanks to Almighty Allah at a Special Jumat Service which will hold at the Civil Service Mosque behind the state secretariat, Abere. The release therefore enjoins members of sister Chapels to come celebrate with the State Information Chapel and make the week interesting.
