Man, 40, Docked For Allegedly Defrauding 186 LG Staff In Osun

Osun State Police Command has on Monday dragged one Adepoju Taofeeq Olalekan before a Magistrate court sitting in Osogbo for allegedly defrauding 186 persons to the tune of N45.2 million naira.

Olalekan who is a 40 years old allegedly conspired with the First bank officials to defraud the victims.

He was said to have stood as a middle man to acquire loans for affected 186 persons under the false pretence and intent to defraud.

It was gathered that the the 186 persons that were allegedly duped are staff of Irepodun Local Government Area of the state.

Police prosecutor, ASP Fagboyinbo Abiodun had told the court that the accused committed the offence between the year 2012 and the month of July, 2015 in Osogbo.

The alleged offence according to the Prosecutor contravened Sections 422, 419, and 516 of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol. 2, Laws of Osun state of Nigeria, 2002.

But, the suspect pleaded not guilty to the allegations slammed against him.

Defence Counsel, SP Ogundari, prayed the court to grant his client bail in a libra on liberal terms.

The magistrate, M.A Awodele, granted the accused bail in the sum of 10 million naira with 2 sureties, who must be civil servants with level 15.

She thereafter adjourned the case till February.
