APC Group Commiserates With Gov Oyetola, Chief Akande Over Demise Of Party Chieftain, G. O Lawal

A sociopolitical group, Opomulero Osun, has expressed shock over the demise of a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun,
Alhaji Gbadamosi Owoseni Lawal.
Popularly called G. O Lawal, the prominent leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ikirun, Ifelodun Local Government of the State died early this morning at Osun State University Teaching Hospital, Osogbo.
Opomulero Osun in a statement signed by Oluomo Sunday Akere, and made available to CityMirrorNews in Osogbo, on Tuesday, commisirated with Governor of the state, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, the former Governor of the state, Chief Bisi Akande and the state chairman of the party, Prince Gboyega Famodun over the death of Alhaji Lawal.
The group described late Lawal as a humble, kind and avowed progressive and lover of his people and developments, saying the vacuum he left behind would be very difficult to fill.
“Opomulero Osun, a socio/economic/political group in Osun APC has commiserated with the Governor Alh. Gboyega Oyetola, our leader Chief Adebisi Akande, the State Chairman Prince Adegboyega Famodun and all members of the APC in the state on the death early this morning of Alh. Hon. Gbadamosi Owoseni Lawal, the political leader of the progressive movement in Ikirun and the entire Osun North East division of the state.
“Alh. G. O. Lawal as he is fondly called passed on this morning at the ripe age of Ninety Four (94) years.
“Late Baba Lawal was a former Councilor in 1954, District Chairman 1959/60 when Akinorun Grammar School was established in Ikirun and also a member of the old Oyo State House of Assembly between 1979 & 1983.
“An avowed progressive and lover of his people and developments, Late Alh Lawal was the Osun Central Senatorial leader of our party right from AD, ACN up till APC and a prominent member of the Elders Caucus ” Igbimo Agba”.
“After the defeat of the AD in the 2003 election, Pa G. O. Lawal played a major role in the eventual return of Osun State to progressive family in 2010.
” A devout Muslim, humble, kind, easy going and listening Leader, Pa Lawal’s doors are always open 24/7 for all and sundry.
“The contributions of Pa Lawal will be fondly remembered not only in Ikirun, Osun North East division but the entire Osun State. Our prayer is that Allah should grant Papa aljanat fridauz and also comfort all of us that he left behind. Adieu Baba.”
