A chieftain of the ruling-All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Alhaji Moshood Olalekan Adeoti, has admonished Muslims and adherents of other religions across the country to use the Eid-Kabir celebration as an avenue to foster unity among the various ethnic groups in Nigeria.

This was contained in a statement issued and signed by his media aide, Kayode Agbaje and made available to newsmen in Osogbo, the state capital.

According to Alhaji Adeoti, Nigeria at this period of its history needs unity among its numerous nationalities constituting its population.

“It’s only in unity by all the ethnic nationalities in the country that appreciable progress can be recorded by the three tiers of government,” Adeoti stressed.

He further called for collective prayers by all believers across all religious groups for God to intervene and stop the current spate of killings by bandits and terrorists in some parts of the country.
“There is no better time for Nigerians to pray to God to stop the current spate of killings by bandits and terrorists in some parts of the country,” he stated further.

The APC chieftain also used the occasion to charge all Muslims in the state and the country in general to use the period of the Sallah to pray for an end to the Corona Virus pandemic currently ravaging the world irrespective of class, religious beliefs and race.

Adeoti further charged all residents of the State of Osun to continue to pray for continued success of Governor Gboyega Oyetola-led administration in the state.

“I also want to use this opportunity to charge all residents and indigenes of the State of Osun to continue to pray for the success of the Governor Gboyega Oyetola-led administration in the state, for its success is our collective success,” Alhaji Adeoti further noted.
