Covid-19: Osun First Lady Distributes Free Facemasks, Fuel To Okada Riders In Osun
The wife of Osun State Governror, and President, Ilerioluwa Development Initiative, Mrs Kafayat Oyetola, has again, distributed free facemasks to no fewer than 500 commercial motorcyclists and 100 tricyclists in the state to cushion the effects of Coronavirus pandemic ravaging the whole world.
Mrs Oyetola also gave out fuel to support the beneficiaries and enhance their transportation businesses.
Over two thousand of motorcycle and tricycle riders have benefited from the kindid gusture in Ede South, Ede North, Boripe LG, Osogbo and Olorunda since she started the facemasks and fuel distribution.
The beneficiaries, who are under the umbrella of motorcycle and tricycle riders association in the state, expressed readiness to follow all COVID-19 safety protocols laid down by National Centre for Disease Control and government in order to curb the spread of the deadly disease in the state.
The First Lady urged residents of the state at large to abide by measures put in place to fight the pandemic to a stand still.
While speaking during the distribution, the Coordinator of Asiwaju Grassroots Foundation (AGF) in Osun State, Comrade Tijani Sikiru said the beneficiaries of the first lady’s gesture were selected accordingly through their various local government association known as OSCOMORON.
Sikiru who coordinated the programme stressed that the free fuel was an additional benefit to support their businesses.
He added that the kind gesture of Mrs Oyetola will still be extended to other beneficiaries in other local governments in the state.
The President of the association, Comrade Ajenifunija Gbenga thanked Mrs Oyetola for extending the humanitarian gesture to the association.
Gbenga assured Mrs Oyetola of the beneficiaries’ maximum support to Governor Adegboyega Oyetola led administration in ensuring that all safety protocols to prevent the spread of corona virus are followed to the letter.
