Oyetola, Aregbesola Attend Ijesa North Diocese Third Synod, Sue For Peace

The Governor of Osun State, Adegboyega Oyetola and the immediate past Governor of the State and Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola were among other dignitaries that joined the Ijesa North Diocese of Anglican Church of Nigeria as they observed their Third Synod, held at St Peters Anglican Church ,Ijebu Jesa on Friday.

While Speaking at the event, Governor Adegboyega Oyetola appreciated the leadership of Ijesa North Diocese for its spiritual contributions to the robust peace and security the state has been enjoying since inception of the administration till date.

The Governor who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government of Osun,Prince Oluwole Oyebamiji saluted the thinking behind instituting the Synod as a weapon for building the doctrine and administration of the Church, as well ensuring its unity for overall development.

Governor Oyetola maintained that Ijesa North Diocese is known for peace and used the occasion to appeal to the entire congregation to embrace peace in all their endeavours.

He stressed that Osun is adjudged the most peaceful state in the Country as at today while the Administration of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola is doing and will continue to do all that is necessary to sustain the peace and security in the state..

Also speaking,the immediate past Governor of Osun and Minister for Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola in his speech titled “Love is the Foundation Of Faith” appealed to youths to seek for knowledge and use the knowledge as a weapon for peaceful resolutions .

Ogbeni Aregbesola said the endsars protest embarked upon by the youths of this nation wrecked serious havoc to the economy and infrastructural facilities in some parts of the country, especially in Lagos State.

He noted that though, protest is a fundamental human right of all citizens and a wake up call for government ,he said it must be done with high sense of patriotism.

The Minister also used the occasion to call on all parents to train their children to be responsible citizens as well admonished the people to give love a chance in all their doings.

In a good will message delivered by the Bishop of Ijesa North Diocese, Dr Isaac Oluyamon acknowledged the ingenuity of the State for the creation of “Amontekun” to further improve the security of the State.

He commended the efforts of the Government of Osun in ensuring constant reign of peace in the State.

Dr Oluyamon therefore appealed to both the State and Federal Government to solve the problem of unemployment ,insecurity and corruption at all levels.

Highlight of the programme was the presentation of “EPISCOPAL ,ECUMENICAL” Award of Excellent Administrator on Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola by Ijesa North Diocese.

Others in attendance include the Speaker of Osun House of Assembly,Rt Hon Timothy Owoeye,Chief Rotimi Obeisun and the Retired Air Chief Marshal,Oluseyi Petirin among others
