COVID-19: NURTW Begins Fumigation Of Commercial Vehicles In Ondo

The National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Ondo State Chapter in conjunction with Favour Olorunjuwon Enterprises, on Wednesday begun the fumigation of all commercial vehicles as part of measures to curtail the spread of COVID-19 pandemic in the state.

NURTW chairman in the state, Mr. Jacob Adebo, told CityMirrornews online during the inauguration of the fumigation exercise in Akure that the efforts was in line to support the state government to protect lives of Ondo people, particularly passengers.

According to him, the fumigation exercise which began in Akure would be done simultaneously across the 18 local government areas of the state.

Adebo maintained that the fumigation became imperative so as to put a stop of any invasion of the pandemic disease in the state.

“It is our duty to protect lives, particularly our passengers and we are doing this to support the state government,” he said.

Speaking in the same vein, the Chief Executive Officer, Favour Olorunjuwon Enterprises, Jones Oladele said, “as you all know that health is wealth, our efforts is to compliment what the government is doing in stamping out the pandemic.”

Oladele, therefore, appealed to residents to abide by the preventive measures outlined by the relevant authorities.

Also speaking, the Operational Manager of the company, Bello Olorunjuwon advised motorists to adhere strictly with the government preventive measures in curtailing the spread of the virus.
