2019: Buhari Deserves Second Term, Says Akeredolu

Ondo State government and the state chapter of the All Progressives
Congress (APC) have endorsed President Muhammadu Buhari for a second term in office, calling on the president to shun the advice given by some individuals not to run for a second term.

Speaking at the unification rally
organized by the state chapter of the APC to mark the one year anniversary of his government, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu declared that the state has resolved to support President Buhari to win the next year presidential election.

Akeredolu said President Buhari deserves a second term in office having served the people of Nigeria with fairness and honesty,stressing that “Our President is Mr Integrity and he has served the
people of this great country with honesty, believing that he has an integrity and name to protect.”

He said the government of Buhari was laid on the foundation of truth and fairness, hence the achievements recorded in the fight against corruption, recovery of looted funds and protection of the country’s image before the international community among others.

He therefore maintained that Buhari/Osinbajo Campaign office would soon open in Akure.

Other speakers at the rally including the National Chairman of the APC, Chief John Oyegun, Edo State Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki, Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr Kayode Fayemi, and the Deputy National Chairman of the APC, Mr Segun Oni called on Nigerians to support the Buhari’s
administration.

Oyegun who noted that the part has been united, adding that there was no more crisis within the party.

“The APC is now one. There is no more faction within the party at any
level. We are a united happy family today. I am happy to inform you
that all factions have come together and there is peace in the APC
now,’ he said.

Speaking on his one year anniversary, Governor Akeredolu said his
government has touched the lives of the people of the state through
rapid infrastructural development, saying that many roads have been constructed across the 18 Local Government Areas of the state.

He assured that the next three years of his administration will witness monumental achievements across all sectors of life, just as he called on the people of the state to support his administration, which he described as a people-centered one.

In his remarks, Dr Fayemi disclosed that bitumen will soon be exported
to other parts of the world from Ondo State, even as he promised that
the largest granite factory in Africa will soon be established in the
state.

Others who graced the unification rally include the Minister of State for
Niger/Delta Development, Prof. Cladius Daramola, National Vice
Chairman (South west) of the APC, Chief Pius Akinyelure, Senator Tayo Alasoadura, Hon. Afe Olowookere, Chief Olusola Oke, Osun State Commissioner for Regional Integration, Hon. Bola Ilori among others.

However, the national leader of the APC Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and
members of the party in the state like Isaac Kekemeke and the Senator representing Ondo North Senatorial district, Prof. Ajayi Borofice among others boycotted the unification rally.
