Online Reaction Trails Sex Saga Of OAU Professor
By Faith Okerinmodun
Reactions have continued to trailed the alleged sex extortion involving a professor in the Accounting Department of Obafemi Awolowo University and an unknown Student.
The Action Committee of the Students’ Union in the university had earlier warned that it might be forced to declare the randy professor, Richard Akindele, wanted if he does not show forth himself.
Although students have taken to various social media platforms including Facebook and Twitter to express surprise at the incident, many students have refused to comment on the development due to the sensitivity of the issue.
A student who identified himself as James said “The issue is very depressing and I hope issues will be investigated hugely to avoid a reoccurence”
Another Student who pleaded anonymity said “This things happen but it is only good that it is made open and made as a deterrent to other erring lecturers”.
CityMirrorNews checks revealed that the accused Professor has not lectured in the Department for at least five sessions and does not take undergraduates.
It remains to be seen which course exactly the accused lecturer was negotiating with the student.
Another Student in the Department who spoke with CityMirrorNews said he has never heard of the name before in the institution “I have never heard of Professor Akindele before in the Department”.
Private visits by CityMirrorNews Correspondent to the Church of the Accused lecturer who is a Pastor at an Anglican church in Ile-Ife shows disbelieve as those around said the accused professor is a “Gentleman to the core and easy going”.
Although the University is yet to react to the issue as the Public Relations officer of the University Abiodun Olarewaju said “Machineries have been put in place to look into the issue”.
Professor Akindele had in the Audio demanded five times sex with the student before he would pass her, after she scored 33 in the course yet to be known.
