Rep Member, Makanjuola Announces Achievements In 2 Years

The Federal lawmaker representing Surulere/Ogo-Oluwa Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Hon. Ojo Sunday Makanjuola, has announced significant achievements in his first two years in office.

According to a statement, Makanjuola has facilitated the drilling and repairs of boreholes in 20 locations, improving access to clean water for residents, while over 40 existing boreholes have also been repaired.

“Key locations include Ogunba (Iwofin Ward), Gaa Jooro (Iresadu Ward), Ilogbo (Mayin Ward), Ranyin (Arolu Ward), Olugbon Palace (Igbon/Gambari Ward), Iwoso Mogele (Ilajue Ward), Ile-Abu Oloye (Odo-Oba Ward), Ajaawa (Ajaawa Ward), and Iresa Palace (Iresa Ward), among others.”

In terms of empowerment, he has distributed deep freezers and generators to over 200 elders, both male and female, and provided cash support to more than 100 youths, while approximately 5,000 constituents received palliatives in the first phase of his empowerment programme.

The statement added that the second phase included training for youths in security, disaster management, emergency response, and telecommunications, along with cash support.

A Senior Legislative Aide to the lawmaker, Mr. Atanda Hammed Enuose, praised him as a “go-getter” and noted that no first-time representative in the history of the Ogo-Oluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency has achieved so much under two years.

Atanda,who is the Chairman ,Oyo State Caucus of Personal Assistants to National Assembly Members said Makanjuola has facilitated the construction of six classroom blocks and an equipped library/ICT center in Arolu, as well as covering JAMB registration fees for 100 students in his constituency.

“A primary health center has been established in Ijana Ayegun, Opete Ward, enhancing healthcare access. Infrastructure projects under his leadership include the laying of 2 km of asphalt roads in Oko Town, the installation of a 500 KVA transformer in Gambari town, and rural electrification in 15-20 villages.”

“Solar streetlights have been provided in Iresa and Arolu wards, and funding has been secured for the construction of the Odo-Oba police station.”

“Makanjuola has supported over 200 market women with cash grants and provided essential farming tools to 3,000 farmers. Additionally, over 30 youths have been recruited into the Nigerian Army, with job placements in the Solid Minerals Development Fund and various federal agencies, including the Federal Medical Centre and Nigerian Television Authority.”

“He has introduced motions for the construction of a police secondary school in Odanban and for the establishment of a Cashew Research Institute in EESADE, Ogbomoso, while addressing foreign investment concerns in the solid minerals sector.”

“Makanjuola’s achievements demonstrate his commitment to enhancing the welfare and development of his constituents in the Surulere/Ogo-Oluwa Federal Constituency,” he noted.
