Ondo: Seven Men Arrested With Dangerous Weapons

The Ondo State Police Command, has arrested gang of seven armed men with some dangerous weapons in the state.

The men were nabbed at a village in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State by detectives from the command.

While parading the suspects on Wednesday, the Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO), Mr. Femi Joseph revealed that they were nabbed with locally made guns, cartridges and gun powder.

Mr. Joseph said the police got winds of information about the men who came from the north extraction.

“They claimed to be hunters who left the north to come and engaged in a hunting expenditure.

“So we found their story to be too good to be true and we will dig into their claim, to find out if they are actually telling us the truth.

“And If it is in the negative, your guess is good as mine where they will be taken to” he added.

He explained that the officers rescued three victims abducted yesterday by a gang of kidnappers on the notorious Ore-Lagos express road.

He added that the victims were part of the passengers traveling from Imo state to Lagos in an 18 seater bus but waylaid by kidnappers.

Mr. Joseph gave names of the rescued kidnapped victims as- Nwosu Virgina, Opara Oluchi and Okechueka Johnson.

He added that two men – Sunday Fatoki and Adamu Muhammed both natives of Ogbomoso in Oyo state who specialize in buying stolen goods were arrested.

According to him, the men were nabbed with a stolen Toyota Camrry vehicle.
