A former Deputy Governor in Osun state Senator Iyiola Omisore,  has asserted that the current Osun state budget is not only an indication of incompetence and bankruptcy, but also reflection of absolute lack of knowledge of public financing and appropriations process.

Senator Omisore

Senator Omisore made the assertion through a press statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary Dr Jide Fatokun and made available to CityMirrorNews in Osogbo.

He said it was very sad that after 8 years of the Rauf Aregbesola-led APC government in the state, its leadership still whines in its incompetent game of blaming previous administration, a glaring sign of its inability to respond the budget issues raised by Omisore and the Peoples Democratic Party PDP.

While enunciating his position on the recently passed budget,  he posited that in the last seven and half years, the APC has accrued colossal debts of N416b, dubious uncompleted projects of over N500b, N119b salaries and wages arrears of workers, retirees and pensioners, inflated airport and roads projects scam.

Omisore submitted that the state has itself accepted its inability to pay salaries, remains unaccountable for the Paris Club refund, yet it has the audacity to present a budget it can neither fund nor execute.

His words : “our attention has again been drawn to the flapping hands of a government drowning in its own ineptitude”.

“The examination of the feasibility and credibility of public sector budgets is a matter for everyone”.

“The current Osun state budget not only an indication of incompetence andthe current Osun state budget not only an indication of incompetence and bankruptcy, but also reflects absolute lack of knowledge of public financing and appropriations process”.

All Iyiola Omisore is doing is to gain power or for his party to gain power. If PDP government has done what APC government is doing presently, in fact, no salaries and pensions would have been owed in Osun. Even Chief Olusegun Obasanjo knew the more harm than the good PDP has caused Nigeria and Nigerians. All of these are mere malicious criticisms. PDP leadership stole billions of dollars and nairas from government purse, the resultant effect is plunging the whole nation in financial crisis and serious economic recession. Let me stop here.

No efforts can water down d truth as enumerated in d submissions of Senator Omisore & d PDP, & if Aregbesola & d APC desires to be taken serious by d good people of Osun State, d least they can do is to respond with facts, to issues raised against their government. D era of manipulating d electorates to curry their favor & confidence is gone forever. Aspirants wiill be given opportunities solely based on their sincerity, quality & practicability of what they bring to d table. D truth is that d Aregbesola’s government has outlived its usefulness, & there is need to change d APC’s adulterated change, & d time is now.

When are we going to be free in Nigeria, when are we going to free ourselves from APC bondage, PDP loot public funds, fine. For almost 3years of APC rules now, nothing has been done to relieve Nigerians but condemnation of PDP rules. All PMB fund relieve to pay salary were diverted by Governors, education is becoming unaffordable for common citizens, killing-kidnappings-human rituals all over the places, food getting expensive daily and land borders sealed, access to health facilities restricted by cost. Yet we blame PDP, Fellow Nigerians, economy were not as bad as now even though they loot public funds. It’s can’t continue like this, the unchanging changer will intervenes, He is our strength because we are feeble. He did it in Ghana, it’s Nigeria turn even from now.
