PLASIEC Fixes Date for LG Election in Plateau State

The Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC) has fixed Saturday 17 February, 2018 for the conduct of local council election in the state.
The Commission has also released Time Table and Guidelines for the election.
This was disclosed in a press release signed by its Chairman, Hon. Fabian Ntung and made available to CityMirrorNews today in Jos.
The statement said that the publications are available at “the Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC) Headquarters in Jos, all the Seventeen (17 no.) Local Government Area Offices of Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC) and all the three hundred and twenty five (325 no.) State Electoral wards”.
The Commission appealed to ” all concerned to go about the process in a peaceful manner and in line with laid down laws”.
The Chairman expressed the Commissions determination to “deliver a free, fair, transparent, credible and peaceful Local Government Council Election to the people of Plateau State”.
All the 17 local government councils in the state are headed by Caretaker Committees. Governor Simon Lalong dissolved the duly elected Chairmen and Councillors in 2015.
