Man in Court for Alleged Generator Theft in Osun

A 28, year-old man, Mr Wasiu Aderemi , was on Thursday arraigned before an Osogbo Magistrate’ s Court in Osun State over alleged stealing of a generator and fraud.
Wasiu was brought before the court on a two count charge of stealing and fraud while pretending to be a technician to repair an Elepag Generator valued at #65,000 belonging one Mr Adewumi Femi at the rate of #6,000 before he allegedly whisked the set away
The prosecutor, Sgt. Ajayi Sunday, told the court that the accused committed the offense on December 26, 2016 at about 8 am in Osogbo with the offence punishable under sections 419(1) of Criminal code Cap and 390(9) of the criminal code cap 34 vol II.and section 390(1) of Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol II 34 laws of Osun, 2003.
However, the accused lawyer Mr Adegoke Ogunsola pleaded that his client is still presume innocent till his conviction by the court.
The presiding Magistrate, Mrs Olubukola Olowolagba, in her ruling granted the suspect bail in the sum of N200,000 and two sureties in like sum.
Olowolagba said the sureties must reside within the court jurisdiction with evidence of tax payment and two passports size photographs, attached with an affidavit of means.
The case was adjourned to June 2nd, 2017 for hearing.
