A former first lady of Akwa Ibom has died after a brief illness
Mrs Imo Isemin, whose husband died in 2009, reportedly died in a private hospital in the state
Her husband was the first civilian governor of the state
According to news reports, Mrs Imo Isemin, the wife of the first civilian governor of Akwa Ibom state is dead.
Her husband died in 2009 and according to the press, she died after a brief illness in a private hospital in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom state capital.
She was said to have been taken to the hospital on Tuesday, September 19, after she suddenly fell ill.
Mrs Isemin was a successful entrepreneur and a stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the state.
Her husband left office as governor due to the military coup in Nigeria that brought Sani Abacha, a general, into power. He died 16 years later.
