The Minister of Health, Prof Isaac Adewole has condoled with the family of the late Senator Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke who by providence was the first executive governor of Osun State and until his unfortunate death, a serving distinguished APC senator from Osun West senatorial district.

In his words, “I am deeply saddened by the loss of a friend, brother, statesman and a seasoned politician: his loss is likened to a swift wind that faints away gradually but I take solace in knowing that he played his active role in shaping the political landscape of our dear state and Nigeria as a progressive agent of positive change through his qualitative representation, selfless service to mankind, unequaled philanthropic gestures and religious  leadership disposition as a revered community leader”. Our Nation will not forget his countless sacrifices to solidify our unity as a federating unit.

Instructively, I served as a governing council member in Adeleke University where the deceased was a Chancellor, He was indeed a pragmatic lover and genuine embodiment of sound education towards self reliability and liberation, his leadership qualities as a former Pro Chancellor of University of Calabar is a testament to his brave commitment and devotion to education. Though departed yet he will remain alive in our hearts and minds forever as a great man who displayed uncommon affection to the plight of humanity

In this difficult  time of mourning, I equally extend my heartfelt sympathy to the government, people and APC family of the state of Osun on this repressive and unfortunate loss of one of our strong pillar of grassroots mobilization, my deepest thoughts and prayers are with the immediate and extended family members, the Timi of Ede in Council, The 8th Senate, state executives & members of Osun APC and loving people of Ede community. May Allah grant us all the fortitude to bear his loss and guide him on his journey to his creator.

Meanwhile, the frontline ruler, Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi,  Telu I, has commiserated with the the people of Ede community and the entire populace of Osun over his death.

Oluwo in a press statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Alli Ibraheem and made available to CityMirrorNews in Osogbo, Osun state capital.

Oluwo described the loss as monumental, owing to the progressive leadership qualities of the deceased.

Oba Akanbi said the former senator was one of the few personalities who laid the foundation for the state, saying his demise is a vacuum.

“Adeleke’s death is a wide vacuum, a monumental loss. I condole with the people of Edeland and Osun State. May his soul rest in peace “.
