Senator Isiaka Adeleke’s Burial Postponed, Corpse Returns to Ede after Autopsy

The remains of the late senator representing Osun West Senatorial District in the Senate, Isiaka Adeleke would be buried tomorrow according to Islamic rites.

Although, the corpse of any deceased Muslim is mandatorily buried the day he/she dies in accordance with Islamic injunctions, the burial postponement is believed to have occurred due to the autopsy carried out on his body at the Lautech Teaching Hospital, Osogbo on Sunday afternoon.

According to a close source, the burial rites will be performed tomorrow morning (Monday).

It has also been reliably gathered that the corpse is now back in Ede after taken for Pathological check-up as ordered by his junior brother, Deji Adeleke.

CityMirrorNews can also reveal that the autopsy was completed between 5-6pm on Sunday evening.

There is also a growing anxiety in Ede, the deceased’s hometown as many are still in rude shock over the development.

Irate Youths were seen blocking the road leading to his country home as they were angry to realize that their benefactor, leader and mentor is gone.

Meanwhile, A former governor of Osun State, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola has described the death of Senator Isiaka Adeleke as a monumental loss which has made the state and the country poorer.

In a statement issued in Osogbo on Sunday, Prince Oyinlola who said he was on his way to Osogbo from Lagos when the news was broken to him noted that he was still in shock.

He described Adeleke as a brother, friend and confidant whose demise had made him, the state and the political class in Nigeria poorer.

Prince Oyinlola who stressed that he still found it difficult to come to terms with the reality of the death of the first Executive Governor of Osun state prayed that God would console the family, Edeland, his associates and friends, Osun state and the country at large.

He prayed God to grant his soul eternal peace.

As at the time of filing in this report, there is some bit of calm in Ede as business activities is taking shape in some areas of the town.
