The Chairman, Caretaker Committee of the PDP,  Alhaji Sarafadeen Ishola made the disclosure while inaugurating caretaker committee members for the ten local government areas that made up the Osun Central Senatorial district, held in Osogbo, the state capital.

Ishola, who expressed optimism that the party would wrestle power from APC, said that the party was on a rescue mission and was ready to liberate the people of Osun from the current hardships occasioned by the inhumane policies of the Aregbesola led government.

He noted that the recent Osun West senatorial by-election which was won with a large margin by the PDP was an attestation to the fact that the people of Osun are tired of the APC led government in the state.

According to him, the last Osun West senatorial by-election result shows that the people of Osun are ready to exploit their voting power to dislodge the Aregbesola and his party, APC.

“During  the last Osun West by-election, we all came together in unity. All party members make sure they worked together regardless of their differences, they berried their grievances and ensure we defeat the ruling party. The people of Osun have one message for us to be united and cast their vote for us.”

“The issue of disunity in our party in Osun state has gone,  the large turn out in the three Senatorial districts is a good indications that, there is no rancour whatsoever in our party in the state. Our teeming members have decided to work in unity so as to chase the ruling party away”

“My position goes beyond partisan politics, for a democracy to thrive in Nigerian, there must be a good ruling party and vibrant opposition party, PDP is been built to be a viral opposition particularly in Osun that has election next year, and we should allow the electorate to take a decision”, he said.

Ishola  further hinted that  their mission was to unite party in Osun saying  with unity and support of the people they will take over power come 2018.

He opined that the primary assignment for his committee is to re-unite the members of the party in the state.

He said the major challenge of the party in the state is disunity which has been resolved by the committee.

He however urged the ruling APC to stop campaign of personal attack, saying they should rather campaign on issues.

Meanwhile,  the inauguration of the caretaker committees witnessed a large turn out of members of the party across the 10 local governments that constitute Osun Central Senatorial District in the state.
