Herbalist Possessing Human Head Arraigned In Osun

The Osun State Police Command has arraigned a 50 year old Herbalist, Adeyeye Adeniyi known as “Aremo” for possessing human skull.
The charge sheet read “That You Adeyeye Adeniyi 29/8/2017 at Moro Area, Ipetumodu within the magisterial district and at the same time, place and date in the aforementioned magisterial district did unlawfully interfered a dead body by cutting off the deceased head with intent to use as charm for ritual.”
The prosecutor, Inspector Elisha Olusegun said the offences committed are contrary to and punishable under Section 329A and 242(1) (b) of the Criminal Code Cap 34, Volume II, Laws of Osun State, Nigeria, 2002.
Adeniyi pleaded not guilty to the two counts charge against him and his counsel, Mr Ugwu pleaded with the court to admit him on bail in the most liberal terms.
The presiding magistrate, Adenike Olowolagba ordered that the accused person should be remanded in Ilesha Prison Custody and that his counsel should present a formal bail application.
She thereafter adjourned the case to October 10, 2017 at Ipetumodu Magistrates court for mention.
