The factional Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State, Dr Bayo Faforiji, has said the inability of the party to conduct an acceptable congress led to the crisis currently enmeshing the state chapter of the party.

Dr Faforiji while featuring on a radio programme monitored by our correspondent in Osogbo on Monday maintained that the deprivation of some members to contest by the congress committee leadership worsened the case.

He said his rejection of the manipulated process made him and his followers reject the Soji Adagunodo state executive committee of the PDP.

According to him “I paid 3.7 million for the nomination form, I was not given any form, It was a manipulated process, I was shortchanged, that was why we rejected their plans”

“There were some people from Boluwaduro local government who also rejected it, there is a court judgment restraining them. The mediation committee headed by a retired judge came and worsened the matter; they did not want some people there that was why the process was touched along the line”.

The former Osun cabinet member explained that the current APC government of Rauf Aregbesola denied him the opportunity to become his town’s monarch.

“When all the kingmakers had chosen me and forwarded the name to the state government, it refused to grant me since”.

“I met former Governor Oyinlola, I met the then Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Prof. Adelabu who was my colleague also intervened but all they were telling me was to join APC then which I openly refused”.

Faforjin who expressed his readiness to stay within the PDP however did not rule out the possibility of forming a new party.
