No Court Injunction Against Osun PDP Congress-Kayode Oduoye

The House of Representatives candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2015 general election, Barr. Kayode Oduoye has cleared the air on the purported injunction secured by the Senator Iyiola Omisore’s faction of the party against the conduct of just the party congress.

According to Oduoye, there was no injunction against the ward, local and state congress of the PDP in the state of Osun, explaining that what the Omisore’s fact presented to the public as injunction was a mere court order to serve the nation secretariat of the party on a suit filed at an Ikirun High court.

Oduwoye who is a lawyer spoke in a telephone interview with Osun Defender on Tuesday.

The PDP stakeholder said: “Pertaining to what they called court injunction, there is no any court injunction against our congress. We need to put the record straight, I know and by what I have before me there is no record of any injunction.

“I speak not as ordinary member of PDP but as stakeholder in the party, and at this level, I don’t think anything would happen to the party where I deeply committed to without coming to my knowledge. And more also, I am also involving in the process in getting our party restructured, rebuild and rebranded.

“What the other faction has that is being interpreted and presented to the public is as court injunction is just an order to serve a party outside the jurisdiction of the court in the suit they filed at Ikirun High Court. There is no injunction anywhere. We are law abiding people in our camp.”

Oduoye, popularly called SuperKay added: “We mean to hold a zonal congress on Saturday, May 13, 2016 but because there is court injunction and the party upheld and obeys. We believe in the rule of law. We respect the law and that is why we suspended the congress that was scheduled to hold that day because we are properly served with an injunction from the Federal High Court that made the Zonal congress not to hold particularly South-West.

But for the one that concerns us in Osun, there is no subsisting court order from anywhere at all, and as a result of that, we went ahead and conducted our congress at the wards, locals and state level.
