Police Arraign 37-Year-Old Man Over Alleged Canadian Visa Fraud In Osun

A 37-Year-Old Man, Adesomo Temitope have been arraigned before Osogbo Magistrate Court in Osun State For allegedly defrauding man an amount of Nine hundred thousand (N900,000.00) CityMirror News Report.
The Osun Police Charged Temitope to Court On Thursday on a Two Counts Charge bothering on Fraud and Stealing.
The Prosecutor Inspector Adegoke Taiwo told the court that the defendant committed the offence on May 6th , 2022 at Igbona area in Osogbo, Osun State.
Taiwo alleged that the defendant collected N900,000.00 from the complainant, Mr. Oseni Falilu, to procure a Canadian visa and Ticket for him.
He said that the offence contravened the provisions of sections 419, 390(9) of the criminal code cap 34 vol II laws of Osun State of Nigeria 2002.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the two count charges.
The defense counsel Okobe Najite urged the court to grant the defendant bail in the most liberal and affordable terms saying his client will not jump bail.
The Magistrate Mrs.M.A Olatunji admitted the defendant to bail in the sum N750,000 with surety.
The Charge Sheet Obtained by City mirror News Reads” That you Adesomo Temitope on the 6th day of May 2022 at Igbona Area Osogbo in the Osogbo Magisterial district did collect the sum of Nine hundred Thousands Naira (N900,000.00) from Oseni Falilu under the pretence that you wanted to help him process visa and ticket to Canada Country and knowing same to be false and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under section 419 of the criminal code cap 34 volume II laws of Osun State of Nigeria 2002.
” That you Adesomo Temitope on the same date, time and place at the aforementioned Magisterial district did steal the sum of Nine Hundred Thousand Naira property of one Oseni Falilu and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under section 390(9) laws of Osun State of Nigeria 2002.
