An Osun state high Court sitting in Ikirun, Ifelodun local government area, has sentenced two men, Orisakunle Abiodun and Opadokun Olayinka, to death by hanging, over murder.
The duo of Abiodun (21) and Olayinka (29), were arraigned on the 22nd January, 2018 on two count charges of conspiracy and murder.
The offences preferred against the convicts, according to the charge sheet, contravened the provision of Sections 324 and 316(1) of the Criminal Code Law, Cap. 34, Vol. 11, Laws of Osun State, 2002.
The victim of the convicts, late Adeoye Matthew, was said to be returning from work alongside his friend, Oladipupo Damilare, on 9th March, 2017 around Babjo Secondary School, Idi- Iroko Area, Ikirun, when the duo of the convicts killed him.
The prosecution Counsel from Ministry of Justice, Philips Afolayan, called three witnesses to proof his case.
Justice Jide Falola held that the prosecution counsel has proofed his case beyond the reasonable doubt.
Meanwhile, Mr. L. S. Bello, prayed the court to temper justice with mercy in sentencing the convicts.
Justice Falola thereby sentenced them to five years imprisonment for conspiracy and pronounced death by hanging for them on murder charge.
