Tinubu Is The First President Of Nigeria By Ibraheem Alli

By my own judgement of the Supreme Court of Ileogbo, the newly inaugurated President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is the first president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. While I was a student, I passed through school and school passed through me. I was not an introvert. I ensured participation in formal, informal, social, political and religious activities on campus. I prepared myself for leadership,from my primary school as a janitor, to Assistant Senior Prefect and to the departmental president. Such visions were not accidental. I prepared myself for them. As I am, I’m still preparing myself for better positions, God’s willing.

We read of many accidental presidents Nigeria has produced. They were hand picked by the owners of Nigeria on interest, which are not majorly by massive and masses majority. Should we talk of Obj, Yar Adua, Jonathan or even Buhari. The Abeokuta outburst further laid credence to how Tinubu went to assure Buhari when hope was almost lost.

Tinubu, in one of his encounters with the press was quoted as saying “Presidency is my long time ambition”. This statement has entrenched preparedness. Against all odds both at his party presidential primary and main election, he repeatedly said “Emi lokan” meaning “It’s my turn”.

Many stood against his way. War waged. He was stronger and kept sailing despite the waves. He was a former governor of Lagos. His tenure turned Lagos to the economic hub of Africa. He has never lost an election in his life. He is calm and takes calculated political journeys.

Today, Tinubu will be sworn in. He was not an accidental president. He was never foisted. He fought the blocks and won the battle. He knows where Nigerians are pinched and has the solutions.

A kingmaker became king. It’s possible if the predecessors have not done the best to improve subjects’ standard of living. Hurray, a renewed hope is birth today.
