FG Announces Date To End Registration Of Unemployed Persons
The Government said it will conclude the registration of unemployed persons in Lagos State on April 28, 2023 according to the National Directorate of Employment (NDE).
The FG through the NDE on Monday, April 17 began the registration of unemployed persons within the 20 local government areas of Lagos State.
The NDE state office in Lagos announced the development and confirmed that the exercise will end on Friday, April 28 at the directorate’s office located at 7, Barikisu Iyede Street, Onike, Yaba and the 20 local government areas in the state.
“The Lagos State office of NDE has embarked on the registration of unemployed persons in the 20 local government areas in the state,” the Lagos State NDE office Coordinator, Serena Edward said.
“The state registration started on Monday April 17 and will end on April 28, 2023. The registration exercise will be held at the NDE state office at 7, Barikisu Iyede Street, Onike, Yaba and the 20 local government areas in the state.”
Edward also urged all unemployed persons in Lagos State to take advantage of this opportunity to register at their designated local governments to benefit from the programme.
This, according to her, is because the federal government wants to have complete data on the unemployed persons in the country to make adequate plans for them.
The exercise also kicked off in Abia State on April 17 and would be concluded on May 5, 2023.
Acting Coordinator of NDE in Abia, Tessy Wachuku disclosed in a statement that the registration exercise would be carried out in all local government areas of the state.
Wachuku stated that the NDE liaison officers in the 17 LGAs of Abia would carry out the registration, adding that the centers have already been opened in the localities to capture unemployed persons in rural areas.
For those living in Umuahia and its environs, she said that the NDE Abia secretariat in Old Umuahia, Umuahia South LGA would serve as their registration point.
