Always Use Your Seat Belt While In The Vehicle – Osun Residents Urged
Osun State Government has urged residents to always endeavor to use their seat belts whenever they are on wheels so as to avoid road accidents that could lead to loss of lives.
The State government spoke through the Executive Secretary, Osun State Office of Transportation,Engr. Bilal Adiat while featuring on a radio programme monitored in Osogbo.
He said the administration of Senator Ademola Adeleke has observed that a lot of drivers and passengers are fond of not using their seat belts, a situation which, he said, the Governor condemns.
Engr. Bilal added that the Governor has directed the Office Of Transportation to complement the efforts of officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps(FRSC) in educating motorists and passengers on the need to always use their seat belts.
He said Governor Adeleke will stop at nothing to ensure the safety of all road users in the State, hence the move by government to ensure that safety precautions are taken on the road.
The Executive Secretary stressed that the State Government particularly frowns at a situation where young children are allowed to seat at the front seat, explaining that children are supposed to seat at the back with seat belt in place.
He therefore hinted that officials of the Osun State Office Of Transportation will henceforth be on ground to check and ensure that people use their seat belts when in the vehicle.
According to him, “Our amiable Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke doesn’t want people to lose their lives on our roads through avoidable accidents. He wants safety on our roads at all times.
“He has urged motorists and their passengers to always use their seat belts whenever they are in the vehicle for their own safety”,he stated.
