Osun APC Members Grumble Over Aregbesola’s Plan to Choose LG Caretaker Chairmen
By Fisayo Oyeyinka
Members of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State might be forced to swallow the bitter pill put into their mouth by Governor Rauf Aregbesola on the formation of the caretaker committees across the local government and area offices in the state.
Aregbesola, according to some leaders of the APC in the state, has declared that he would appoint the chairmen for the caretaker committees in all the 67 local governments and area councils.
The Governor had directed the party to nominate three members of the committee while he would nominate two members among which is the chairman in each of the local government.
This step, according to them, is against the democratic practice of allowing the party to choose chairman of the committee in each of the local government.
CityMirrorNews noted that though the APC members are unhappy with Aregbesola’s decision, but they could not challenge him on the move.
However, the APC members were grumbling and expressing their displeasure on the Governor’s decision to one-another
Some of the aggrieved APC members who spoke with CityMirrorNews on Sunday described the Governor’s move as tyrannical and selfish, saying that he has no regard for the party.
The APC members said Aregbesola was preparing ground for imposition in the 2018 gubernatorial primary of the party with his decision to appoint the caretaker chairmen.
