Sultan, Ooni, Akande, Akinrinade, Abati, Others To Attend Osun 30th Anniversary Colloquium Tomorrow
Eminent citizens from across the country will on Thursday, 9th September, 2021 converge on Osogbo for the State’s 30th Anniversary Colloquium, under the theme “Osun at 30: Celebrating a Milestone, Building a Prosperous Future.”
The objective of the Colloquium, which will hold both physically and virtually, is to, among others, discuss the developmental strides in the State of Osun since creation, the roles played by key actors till date, key lessons and suggestions for attaining greater heights.
While the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence, Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar, will chair the event, a former Governor of the State and former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Chief Bisi Akande, will deliver the Keynote Address. The Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, will grace the occasion as the Special Guest of Honour.
Expected at the event as panelists are Otunba Titi Laoye-Ponle, a former Deputy Governor, Osun State; Dr. Segun Aina, President, Osun Development Association; Dr. Yemi Farounbi, former Nigerian Ambassador to the Philippines; Prof. Banji Oyelaran-Oyeyinka, Special Advisor to the President on Industrialization, African Development Bank (AfDB); Mr. Babajide Kolade Otitoju, Group Head of Current and Public Affairs, TVC; and Mr. Mahmud Jega, Editor-in-Chief, 21st Century Chronicle.
Other panelists are Steve Nwosu, Editor-in-Chief, Express Newspaper; Dr. Reuben Abati, former Presidential Spokesman and Co-Anchor, Arise TV This Morning Show; Mrs. Bamidele Ademola-Olateju, Columnist, Premium Times; Prof. Siyan Oyeweso, Professor of History, UNIOSUN; and Hajia Zainab Okino, Chairman, Editorial Board, Blueprint newspaper.
The colloquium will be moderated by Prof. Niyi Akinnaso, a respected columnist and retired Professor of Linguistics at the Temple University, Philadelphia, USA.
