Osun Regional Head Of IBEDC, Ogunleye Inducted Into Osun NUJ Hall Of Fame

The Regional Head of Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC), Osun State, Mr.Akinleye Ogunleye has been inducted into the Osun State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists Hall of Fame

Ogunleye is among seven prominent Nigerians honoured by Osun state chapter of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, at their ceremony, held at the NUJ Press Centre, Iwo road Osogbo, Osun State capital.

CityMirrorNews reports that the seven inductees had played various roles in stimulating growth and development in the areas of their specialisations.

The Chairman of Osun NUJ, Comrade Wasiu Ajadosu, had earlier said that the induction of Ogunleye and six others was done based on their contributions to humanity and sterling achievements, in their chosen careers, which will serve as an encouragement for them to do more.

Other inductees according to Ajadosu
are Prince Adebayo Adeleke, Osun State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Honourable Israel Famurewa, Executive Chairman SUBEB, Osun State, Prince Olufemi Kujembola, Atakunmosa East Local Government Chairman, Hammed Abodunrin, NSCDC Commandant, Ogun State, Honourable Babatunde Ayeni, member and house of reps, Abuja and Engr Adadapo Adelowokan

He charged the inductees not to relent in thier efforts toward making the society better, saying they would continue to be remembered for their good deeds.

Reacting to the honour, IBEDC regional head, Osun Region, Ogunleye appreciated the NUJ for counting him worthy saying the honour will spur him to do more in his contribution to humankind .

Ogunleye described his induction as a an opportunity. He also reiterated his commitment to continuing extending helping hands to the less privileged in the society.

He posited that the award had given him automatic member of NUJ, promising support for the union at all time.

Also speaking, former Chairman of NUJ, Osun Chapter, Pastor Kayode Akinsola, stressed how Osun NUJ has always been in the forefront and legacy of showing lasting impacts on upcoming Journalists.

According to him, “There is no alternative to one Nigeria. Obviously, everybody wants to take his own cake from Nigeria without adding any values or strength.

“Those that have impacted in Nigeria, are the ones who should be honoured.” He said.

The former NUJ Chairman admonished Journalists to at all time carry out their social responsibilies according to the ethics of the profesion.

He alleged that most journalists today aids in promotion of lies. He therefore urged members to verify any information before disseminating it to the public.
