Man docked for stealing 12,107 litres of Diesel in Osogbo

A 47-year-old man, Olusegun Odeniran has been arranged before an Osogbo Magistrate court for allegedly stealing 12,107 litres of diesel.

According to the charge sheet obtained by CityMirrorNews on Thursday, the stolen diesel worth N2,421, 400.

The diesel was said to belong to Slava Yeditepe Construction Group of Company.

Odediran, according to the charge sheet, committed the offence between September 22, 2016 and October 10, 2016 at Slava Yeditepe Construction Company camp, along Iwo Road, Ido-Osun.

It was disclosed in the charge sheet that the offence was contrary to Section 383 and punishable under Section 390(9)of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol.II Laws of Osun State of Nigeria.

The accused person pleaded not guilty of the offence.

Defence counsel, Mrs. Oluwayemisi Akintajuwa pleaded with the court to release the accused person on bail in the most liberal term.

Akintayo argued that the suspect remained innocent until contrary is proved in a court of law.

Police prosecutor, Mr Mireti Wilson, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, did not oppose the bail application.

The preceding magistrate, Mr. Olusola Aluko granted bail of the accused person in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties, one of which must be a civil servant in the state .

Aluko then adjourned the case till November 24, 2016 for mention.
