President Buhari to spend 5 Hours in Osun, As Govt Embarks on Spot-patching of Roads

 President Muhammadu Buhari will tomorrow visit Osogbo, the capital of Osun state. Security have been beefed up to ensure hitch-free visitation of the president.

CityMirrorNews gathered that President Buhari would spend five hours in the state for his presidential visit.

According to sources in the Presidency, President Buhari’s chopper would land at the Ataoja School of Science, Osogbo, where the State Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola would lead other dignitaries to welcome the president.

President Buhari would launch the Federal Government free launch for primary school pupils programme and then commission the Osogbo Government High School. The event would take place at the premises of the school.

President Buhari will be the first President to commission project in Osun state since the inception of the fourth republic.

CityMirrorNews noticed the presence of security personnel and movement of security patrol vehicles in Osogbo.

The state government had since Tuesday embarked on spot patching of major roads and trivial beautification projects in the state capital in preparation for the President Buhari’s visit.

Meanwhile, the state government has urged the people of the state to demonstrate the Omoluabi (virtuous) ethos they have been known for.

In a statement by the Director, Bureau of Communication and Strategy in the Office of the Governor, Mr. Semiu Okanlawon, the government stated that the President will during the visit, commission the newly built 3,000 students capacity Osogbo Government High School, Osogbo.

According to the statement, President Buhari’s visit to Osun will be a testimony to the landmark achievements in the almost six years of Governor Rauf Aregbesola as well as the good working relationship between Osun and the Federal Government.

The statement read in part, “From our own corner of this great country, we are poised to set examples on how to solve many of the national social economic and political complications confronting us.

“The magnificent   Osogbo Government High School President Muhammadu Buhari will be commissioning on Thursday is illustrative of the magnitude of our ideas and interventions in the education sector. We remain unrelenting as we continue our assault on delayed infrastructure in our education sector and all other sectors.”
