Mr Emmanuel Attah, the State Coordinator of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Osun, on Thursday said a total of 160 corps members, from Batch C, Stream II, deployed to the state, were given instant relocation based on ill heath and being pregnant and nursing mothers.
Attah made this known during the courtesy visit of the NYSC Director-General, Brig.-Gen. Suleiman Kazaure to the Osun NYSC permanent Orientation Camp in Ede.
According to the state coordinator, 101 of those given redeployment were relocated because they were nursing mothers and pregnant women while 59 were redeployed based on health grounds.
He however said those redeployed on health grounds were initially given primary treatment in the camp before they were sent home and their respective states for more parental cares.
He said the state NYSC had been up and doing to make sure that corps members deployed to the state were given the best treatment while having a smooth and fruitful stay in the state.
The NYSC Director-General, while addressing the corps members in the camp, congratulated them for graduating and making it to the NYSC to serve their fatherland.
The DG, who was represented by Alhaji Salawu Abdulrazak, Director, NYSC Human Resource Management, advise the corps members to be security conscious and also conscious of their environment.
He also warned them not to get entangled in politics for their safety, and also to embrace their post camp postings in good faith as well as make impart and leave good legacy behind, wherever they find themselves.
Kazaure admonished the corps members to use the camping opportunity to interact and create friendship that would transcend beyond the NYSC service, saying the essence of the scheme was to forster unity of the country.
He also advise them to pay attention and get involve in the skill acquisition programme of the scheme, saying there were no available white collar jobs again, and that the skills acquired during service year could be what they would build and sustain themselves with.
