Osun 2026: We Are Tired of Dancing, Ede South Is Ready For AMBO — APC Chieftain
Hundreds of supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kuye Ward, Ede South Local Government Area of Osun State, on Saturday staged a Walk to Victory in support of the party’s governorship candidate, Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, declaring their readiness to deliver massive votes for him in the August 15 gubernatorial election.
Leading the solidarity march, former Osun West Senatorial aspirant, Engr. Dr. Mojeed Olawale Oluogun, said the exercise was organised to demonstrate the ward’s unwavering support for Oyebamiji, insisting that residents of Ede South were determined to back the APC candidate to victory.
“We are tired of dancing. We don’t want to dance anymore. We believe in AMBO, we believe he will deliver, and we are fully prepared to support him until victory is achieved,” Oluogun said.
He described Oyebamiji as a credible and experienced leader, citing his eight-year tenure as Commissioner for Finance in Osun State as evidence of his competence and integrity.
According to him, members of the APC in Kuye Ward remain optimistic about the party’s chances, maintaining that the support base for the candidate continues to expand with people from other political parties joining the APC.
Oluogun also announced the expansion of the party’s grassroots mobilisation structure in Kuye Ward, revealing that he had added 10 new canvassers to the existing 30 unit canvassers in the ward, bringing the total number to 40. He said the move was aimed at strengthening the APC’s campaign machinery and ensuring effective voter engagement ahead of the August 15 governorship election.
“We already have 30 unit canvassers in Kuye Ward, but to further consolidate our efforts, I have added 10 more canvassers, making a total of 40. Their responsibility is to reach out to voters, mobilise support and ensure that APC and AMBO record a resounding victory in the election,” he stated.
Oluogun urged security agencies and officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to remain impartial and professional during the election, stressing the need to safeguard the integrity of the electoral process.
“We appeal to security personnel to discharge their duties without bias and ensure adequate protection for voters. INEC officials should also uphold professionalism and protect the sanctity of the ballot,” he added.
Speaking at the event, the APC candidate for Ede South State Constituency, Hon. Raji Taoreed Sijuade, popularly known as Zobo, described the turnout as impressive, saying it reflected the growing acceptance of the APC in Ede South.
He expressed confidence that Oyebamiji possesses the capacity and experience required to govern Osun State effectively.
“The turnout today is a clear indication that APC is firmly on ground, especially in Kuye Ward. We are confident that AMBO will emerge victorious because he has what it takes to lead the state,” Sijuade stated.
Also speaking, former Vice Chairman of Ede South Local Government, Mrs. Oyeyemi Oyenike Serifat, said the solidarity walk was organised in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola and Oyebamiji.
She commended Dr. Oluogun for organising the rally and urged party supporters to sustain mobilisation efforts ahead of the governorship election.
The event attracted party leaders, women, youths and supporters from various wards across Ede South, who marched through major roads in Kuye Ward, chanting slogans and expressing confidence in the APC’s victory at the polls.
