A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun state, Dr Onigbinde Ayodele Teslim, has berated the decision of the leadership of the party for its inability to conduct primary election for the selection of the candidate to represent Odo-Otin in the State Assembly.

Dr Onigbinde Ayodele Teslim

He stated this in an interaction with newsmen in Osogbo, the Osun State capital on Wednesday.

Teslim who is one of the aspirants vying to represent Odo-otin 2 at the State House of Assembly said the imposition of candidate on the people of the constituency would definitely affect the fortune of APC in the 2019.

According to him, “The decision of the party not to conduct primary election for the selection of candidate to represent Odootin in the State Assembly will definitely affect the fortune of the All Progressive Congress in the 2019 elections.

“The whole Odo-Otin is aggrieved and not pleased with the candidate chosen by the party.

He further explained that the party jettisoned all reasonable rationale before picking her candidate for next year State Assembly election.

He noted that there is no way he would have lost the election if it was conducted.

He wondered why the APC keeps avoiding appropriate consultations before taking such a sensitive decision.

Teslim, however, appealed to all his supporters to remain calm while awaiting the action of the party.

He appealed to the State Working Committee, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola to embark on measures that will calm frail nerves in order to ensure success at the poll come 2019.

He emphasized that the overall success of the party is topmost on his mind and that the only way Alhaji Oyetola can achieve tremendous success in the next four years is for APC to have majority in the state Assembly
