Oriolowo Denies Oyetola Pact, Says ‘Nobody Has Asked Me To Step Down’
A frontline Gubernatorial aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Engr. Adelere Oriolowo, has denied rumours making the rounds that he has accepted to fly the Gubernatorial ticket as Deputy Governorship candidate to Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola.
Oriolowo, stated this today while addressing an enlarged audience of his campaign organisation who had thronged his house to protest the unfounded rumour.
The gubernatorial hopeful who described the rumours as baseless and fictitious, said the agitation of the West of which he’s a part of, is enshrined in the constitution of the party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Engr. Oriolowo who harped his argument on the party’s constitution said Article 20 VI was explicit enough by saying “All such rules, regulations and guidelines shall take into consideration and uphold the principle of Federal Character, gender balance, geo-political spread and rotation of offices, to as much possible ensure balance within the constituency covered.”
Furthermore, he charged his Coordinators across the wards, Local Government and State, to work assiduously and ensure the success of his candidacy at the guber primaries scheduled to hold tomorrow.
Lastly, he called for caution and continued peace before, during and after the primary, saying the party is supreme and whoever emerges will require the unflinching support of all party members.
