General John Shagaya Dies In Auto Crash

General John Nanzip Shagaya (Rtd) is dead.
The former Economic Community of West African States Monitoring Group, ECOMOG, Commander and former Senator representing Plateau South died in a ghastly motor accident on his way to Jos, Plateau state capital while coming back from Langtang, his ancestral home on Sunday.
His death was confirmed by Dan Dandur, a former Chairman of Langtang North Local Government Area of Plateau state.
He was recently appointed Chairman of the National Institute for Policy and Strategy Studies, NIPSS, by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Shagaya was a Minister of Internal Affairs during Gen. Badamasi Babangida’s regime.
The driver and his ADC are reportedly receiving treatments at an undisclosed hospital.
He was born on September 2, 1942.
