OPSH To Investigate Soldiers Culpability In Bassa Killings

The Special Task Force, Operation Safe Haven, (OPSH) has stated that it will investigate alleged soldiers culpability in the recent attack in Nkiedonwhro village where more than 27 people were reportedly killed on Monday.
The Commander of the taskforce, Major General Anthony Atolagbe, said this when he visited the affected village for on-the-spot assessment.
He confirmed that the taskforce has summoned for questioning, the soldiers on duty at Nkiedonwhro village, Bassa Local Government area where the killings took place.
The soldiers were said to have abandoned their duty posts when the suspected gunmen invaded the community and killed the villagers.
He confirmed that the alleged soldiers have been sent to the headquarters of the task force in Jos for proper investigation on how the attack took place in the village under their watch, especially given the curfew imposed on the area by government which restricted movement of persons.
Irigwe communities in Bassa have been under attacks lately and over 50 lives have been lost
