Man Docked For Stealing 500 Bags Of Cement In Osun

Osun State Police Command has arraigned one Folorunsho Omoniyi before a Magistrate Court sitting in Osogbo, the State capital over an alleged theft of 500 bags of cement.
The Prosecutor, Inspector Abiodun Fagboyinbo told the court that Omoniyi sometimes in the year 2014 at Oke-Fia area, Osogbo obtained 500 bags of cement valued one million and seventy five thousand Naira from the duo of Hammed Salami and Kayode Falore.
Fagboyinbo also added that the accused person comitted the offense under the pretense of paying the complainants within a week, but failed to do so.
The Prosecutor argued that the offense committed by the accused was contrary to and punishable under Sections 419,390, of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Volume II Laws of Osun State of Nigeria 2003.
But the accused person pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge of stealing and obtaining goods under false pretense preferred against him.
Counsel to the accused, Mr. Nagite Okobe applied for the bail of the accused in the most liberal terms, promising that he would not abuse bail privilege if granted.
In his ruling, Magistrate Ashiru Ayeni granted the accused bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties and adjourned the to 17th of October for mention.
