I Owe My 2023 Mandate To Your Support, Tinubu Tells Rivers Residents
Tinubu Thanks Rivers Residents for Supporting His 2023 Presidential Bid
President Bola Tinubu has expressed appreciation to residents of Rivers State for supporting his presidential ambition during the 2023 general election, saying their backing helped him secure the mandate he is currently exercising.
The President made the remarks on Saturday at the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign rally in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
Tinubu recalled that his political prospects appeared uncertain ahead of the 2023 presidential election, but expressed gratitude to Nigerians, particularly the people of Rivers State, for turning out in support of his candidacy.
He said their support played a significant role in his emergence as President, describing the electorate as positive contributors to his political journey.
“Thank you for the last election. In 2022, 2023, I looked very hopeless, but you trooped out to support me and gave me the mandate—the mandate I use to govern today. You are a positive contributor,” Tinubu said.
The President’s remarks came amid ongoing political mobilisation by the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
