OSPOLY Rector: Adeleke’s Education Reforms Earned Him Osun Voters’ Support
The Rector of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, Kehinde Adeyemi Alabi, has congratulated Governor Ademola Adeleke on his victory in the recently concluded Osun State governorship election, attributing the outcome to what he described as the governor’s remarkable performance since assuming office in 2022.
Alabi, in a statement personally signed by him, also commended the staff and students of the institution for their resilience, commitment to justice and appreciation of the Adeleke administration’s contributions to the development of education in the state.
The rector said the governor’s achievements in road construction, healthcare delivery, poverty alleviation, agriculture and education had contributed significantly to his popularity among residents.
He particularly praised the administration’s intervention in the education sector, saying the impact had been evident at Osun State Polytechnic, Iree.
“Senator Ademola Adeleke’s performance in road construction, healthcare delivery, poverty alleviation, agriculture and, particularly, the rebirth of the dwindling educational status of the state has been unprecedented,” Alabi said.
According to him, the Polytechnic community appreciates the governor’s contributions to the growth and development of the institution.
Alabi disclosed that all courses offered by the Polytechnic at both National Diploma and Higher National Diploma levels had been accredited over the past three years.
He also noted that studios, laboratories and workshops across the institution had been equipped with modern facilities and equipment, describing the development as a significant boost to the quality of technical education in the state.
The rector further commended the state government for creating a relatively peaceful environment in tertiary institutions across the state, particularly through what he described as effective student management and the regular payment of workers’ salaries and other entitlements.
“We have experienced peaceful co-existence in our institutions, no form of crisis, and our students are well managed. Salaries and other emoluments are paid regularly and as at when due. There are no security threats in our institution, while the moribund educational system in the state has been reactivated,” he said.
Alabi said these developments, among others, had earned the Adeleke administration commendation from residents and members of the Polytechnic community.
He assured the governor that the institution would continue to support policies and programmes aimed at advancing education and the overall development of Osun State.
The rector, on behalf of the Governing Council, management, staff and students of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, reiterated the institution’s commitment to working with the Adeleke administration to achieve its development objectives for the state.
He congratulated the governor once again and expressed confidence that his renewed mandate would provide an opportunity for further progress across the state.
