‘The Development I Saw in Abroad Is What I Found In Osun’, EX-APC Member Backs Adeleke, Cites Infrastructure, Workers’ Welfare

A former member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Odo-Otin Local Government Area of Osun State, Ibiyemi Tajudeen, has thrown his weight behind Governor Ademola Adeleke’s re-election, citing what he described as the administration’s achievements in road infrastructure, workers’ welfare and healthcare.

Tajudeen, who recently defected from the APC to the Accord Party after returning from abroad, made the remarks during an appearance on Issues That Matter, a current affairs programme on City Mirror TV.

Explaining the reason for his defection, Tajudeen said his assessment of development projects across Osun State convinced him to support Governor Adeleke.

According to him, visits to several towns, including Ila, Ife, Iwo and communities within his native Odo-Otin Local Government Area, exposed him to road and streetlight projects executed by the current administration.

He argued that while the APC governed the state for 12 years, many communities did not experience comparable development, adding that the Adeleke administration had delivered visible projects within three and a half years.

The former APC member also credited the administration with ending the payment of half salaries to workers, promoting civil servants, improving workers’ welfare and investing in primary healthcare centres.

“Development cannot happen everywhere at once. I believe the governor has achieved about 60 per cent of what he intends to do. If given another four years, he will complete more of the projects,” he said.

Speaking on the August 15 governorship election, Tajudeen appealed to residents of Odo-Otin to vote for Governor Adeleke, expressing confidence that the governor would secure victory.

He also commended the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun, for what he described as empowerment programmes and other developmental interventions in Odo-Otin.

Tajudeen further expressed optimism that Adeleke’s re-election would help sustain peace in the state, while urging eligible voters in Odo-Otin to support the governor at the polls.
