Osun 2026: Barau's Aide Empowers 100 Akara Sellers In Rallies Support for APC Candidate AMBO

-Says AMBO’s Victory Is Non-Negotiable
-Vows to Expand Initiative Across Osun West

More than 100 akara sellers across Ayedire Local Government Area of Osun State have received cash support from the Senior Legislative Aide (SLA) to the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, Mr Alli Ibraheem, as part of an empowerment initiative aimed at boosting small businesses and mobilising support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO).

The beneficiaries, drawn from Ileogbo, Oluponna, Kuta and Oke Osun communities, each received ₦10,000 during the programme held at the Ayedire Local Government Secretariat.

The event was attended by APC leaders in the area, including the Chairman of Ayedire Local Government, Hon. Adejare Adigun, who joined the facilitator in presenting the cash gifts to the beneficiaries.

Speaking at the event, Adigun commended Ibraheem for extending the gesture to akara sellers across the council without political discrimination. He urged the beneficiaries to make productive use of the financial support to improve their businesses.

Explaining the rationale behind the initiative, Ibraheem said the empowerment was designed to strengthen the financial capacity of petty traders while encouraging grassroots support for the APC ahead of the August 15 governorship election in Osun State.

He said the programme also reflected his commitment to using philanthropy to improve the lives of ordinary people while building political support for the party.

“I chose to empower akara sellers across Ayedire Local Government to support their businesses, encourage them to canvass votes for our governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, and create what I call a political heaven by lifting people through acts of kindness,” he said.

The Senate aide described the forthcoming governorship election as crucial to the APC’s political fortunes in the state, insisting that the party’s victory was “non-negotiable.”

According to him, “Osun must align with the APC at the federal and local government levels by reclaiming the state government. The benefits of having the same party in control at the federal, state and local government levels are enormous. By the grace of God, AMBO’s victory is non-negotiable.”

Expressing confidence in the party’s chances, Ibraheem said the political atmosphere in Osun favoured the APC and predicted what he described as a landslide victory for its candidate.

“I am not praying for an ordinary victory. I am praying for a landslide margin that Osun State has never witnessed,” he added.

He also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for policies aimed at strengthening local government autonomy and praised the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for her support for petty traders across the country.

Ibraheem further lauded the wife of the APC governorship candidate, Dr Sekinat Bola Oyebamiji, describing her as articulate, confident and energetic in mobilising support for her husband’s campaign. He expressed confidence that she would make an outstanding First Lady if the APC wins the election.

The Senate aide disclosed that the empowerment programme would be extended to other parts of the state, including the Iwo Federal Constituency and the entire Osun West Senatorial District.
